You've heard it before just not this way.

"Land, then, is not merely soil; it is a fountain of energy flowing through a circuit of soils, plans, and animals."
- Aldo Leopold

As it turns out, land is also a conduit of economy with growing importance. Maybe more respect to its value will result. Maybe we think before we dig. Maybe the way we sell will be drastically altered. Maybe homes will become more fluid vehicles of investment. Maybe.

TIC Tock

A wise investor once said "I don't like to invest in what I can't control." That can be good for an investor that is very hands on and likes to be big a big fish. It also might be a truism for TIC investments but the smaller fish in big pond does have its advantages of safety in numbers.

Maybe this is how we get crosstown paid for?

Private equity making a buck can have a social benefit.

If we had to pay to use the roads, maybe they would be in better shape? Is public infrastructure the next frontier for real estate investment? ( nreionline.com)

What about mitigation banks?(choicesmagazine.org) Maybe this is the way to environmental preservation and saving the small farm?

Maybe these are not market alternatives yet and are complicated social and economic issues but if investments are chasing commercial assets and the assets are continuing to be squeezed for return, then people go looking to create other assets.

Think TIC.
